Northwestern vs. Connecticut (Wildcats +14)
(NCAAB) Northwestern vs. Connecticut,
Point Spread: 14.00 | -102.00 Northwestern (Away)
Result: Loss
Betting against UConn feels silly, but Northwestern has proven itself against top teams this season, beating Purdue and Illinois. They just took down an FAU team that made the Final Four last season, too.

Both of these teams are slow-tempo, which means the Wildcats should be comfortable with the pace. They're also an efficient offensive team, ranking 30th in adjusted offensive efficiency, so there's reason to believe they will be confident in the half-court. While just 198th in three-point attempt rate, Northwestern can knock down the three-ball as well as any squad in the country (39.8 3PT%). Connecticut allows the 47th-highest three-point attempt rate, so it would be wise for NU to let it fly from long range.

Besides, Boo Buie's impact cannot be overstated. The senior is a professional scorer with the confidence upset-minded teams need from their leader. I expect Northwestern to keep the game close, taking care of the basketball and making the most of their offensive possessions.
