The free-swinging Orioles have hit Griffin Canning well in the past and have plenty of momentum on their side. This team is fed up after falling flat on its face in the postseason after a dominant regular season. It wouldn't surprise me if it's one of the hottest teams in baseball in April. Los Angeles, on the other hand, is playing with a wounded ego. Losing Shohei Ohtani hurt, but watching him pack his bags for Dodger Stadium had to be excruciating. It's hard to blame him, given the stability in the Dodgers' organization and lack of accountability in Anaheim, but that's another story.

While the air came out of the balloon too quickly on Thursday, it's not as if Los Angeles lacks offensive firepower. Mike Trout is the steadying presence for a lineup that's young but has upside. Grayson Rodriguez is still a young pup with plenty to prove — I wouldn't be shocked if the Angels' lineup keeps the score close for at least four or five innings.
