He wasn't effective last season before going on the IL with a rotator cuff strain, either.

The Diamondbacks' lineup is strong, ranking 4th in home runs, 4th in RBI, and 5th in batting average. It will give SP Zac Gallen, 12-3 with a 2.47 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 16 home starts in 2023, the run support he needs to outlast Cortes and beat New York. The Yanks' bullpen has been dominant so far, but if Arizona can force Cortes from the game early and Gallen turns in a quality start, the D-Backs should come out on top.
