Betting Trends: The under is 16-9-2 when the Red Sox are home favorites, 7-2-1 when they have one day of rest, and 16-10-2 in their interleague games. It's also 13-10 when the Padres are road underdogs, 6-3 when they play after one day of rest, and 10-5 in their interleague games.

Nick Pivetta hasn't had his best stuff at home, and Randy Vásquez has fallen short of expectations on the road, but it may be too early to bet those trends with conviction. Both of these lineups have been hot this month, but these teams are not familiar with each other and haven't been consistent this season. Once these starters exit the game, these bullpens will be tough to score against, too. Boston's pen ranks 7th in ERA, and San Diego has several quality relievers, including Jeremiah Estrada (48:10 K:BB ratio in 27.1 IP)  and closer Robert Suarez (1.09 ERA and 0.79 WHIP).

I will wager on the total to fall below the 9.5-run mark in Friday's San Diego-Boston interleague clash at Fenway Park.
