We’re riding with the Bobcats today as they take on a Troy team that bears very little resemblance to the Sun Belt championship teams of 2022 and 2023. In addition to a defense that is giving up way too many easy scores, there is a very strong possibility they’ll be starting their 3rd string quarterback this week since the top two on the depth chart left last week’s game with injuries.

They’ll have their hands full with a Texas State team that has been an offensive machine so far this season, averaging 38.7 ppg, the 16th-highest total in the country. They also have a ferocious pass rush that is top-30 in the nation in sacks. Whoever starts for the Trojans, they’re going to be running for their life for most of the game.

Under the best of circumstances, this would be a huge ask for Troy. With missing and/or injured quarterbacks against one of the best pass-rushing teams in the country equal a long night for the Trojans.
