While this is a Saints offense that has shown the ability to put points on the board in bunches, they’re going to have some problems tonight for two reasons.

First, Kansas City will be the best defense they’ve faced so far. The Chiefs allow just 18 ppg, good for 7th in the league. To put that in perspective, the best scoring defense they’ve faced so far has been the Falcons. Atlanta give up 23 ppg on the season and they rank 23rd in that category - a full 16 spots behind KC.

The other challenge for New Orleans is they’ll be trying to run their offense behind an offensive line whose interior has been decimated by injuries. RG Cesar Ruiz is out as is C Shane Lemieux. In addition, LG Lucas Patrick is Questionable and looks to be a game-time decision.

The Chiefs wide receiver problems are well documented and this offense has become a more well-balanced team that relies on the running game and short passes. Kansas City averages just 23 ppg and ranks 14th in scoring. This is a big departure for this Chiefs offense that has had a top-5 scoring offense in 5 of the last 6 seasons since Mahomes has been the starter.
