Even though both games have been relatively low-scoring, with the first game sitting 2-2 after nine and the 2nd game landing 4-2, Yankee Stadium and the short right field porch make this game a very different beast.
Yankee starter Clarke Schmidt, like most right-handers, struggles more against lefties and, with the shortest right field in baseball, it’s a juicy target for Freeman, who already has two homers, and Tommy Edman, who is hitting .365 in the Series so far.
For Walker Buehler, it’s been another lost season, with a 5.38 ERA and a 1.553 WHIP. He’s made one good start in the postseason against the Mets but got lit up against the Padres.
The bats have been pretty quiet in LA but night games by the ocean often tend to be lower-scoring affairs but I believe we’re going to see a very different type of game in the Bronx tonight.
