The Giants already had major offensive problems and then they lost LT Anthony Thomas early in the Cincinnati game and what little offensive momentum they were trying to build has completely come to a halt. They scored just seven vs the Bengals and three in their last game against Philly. They also gave up eight sacks against the Eagles as Jones ran for his life the entire night. I look for a big night out of Watt and Heyward and New York struggles to sustain drives.
The one thing the Giants do well is get after the quarterback. They lead the league in sacks while the Steelers have been middle-of-the-pack at protecting the passer. What the Giants don’t do well is stop the run. They are last in the NFL, allowing 5.4 yards per carry. Pittsburgh has gotten their run game going in the last two weeks and I look for a heavy dose of Harris in this one.
We have a game tonight where one side is almost completely inept offensively and the other team wants to run the football as much as possible and shorten the game.
The Steelers can’t do all the heavy lifting by themselves and this one should stay under the total.
