#465/466 ASA PLAY ON 8* Over 52.5 Points – Cleveland @ Tennessee, Sunday at 1:00 PM ET - Both offenses are the strengths of these teams while the defenses are a liability. Tennessee ranks 25th in total defense and 28th in defensive efficiency according to Football Outsiders. The Browns rank 17th in total defense, however their overall stats are not accurate in our opinion. Their scoring defense looks great over the last month, however 3 of those games were played in terrible weather in Cleveland with high winds, rain, and sleet. Those 3 games ended with combined scores of 17, 22, and 39 points. The Browns defense allowed 16, 7, and 17 points in those 3 bad weather games. Last week they were finally able to play in decent conditions and they gave up 25 points to a bad Jacksonville offense. In that game they allowed Jags QB Mike Glennon, making his first appearance this season, to throw for 235 yards and 2 TD’s. If we throw out their 3 terrible weather games, the Browns are allowing 31 PPG on the season. That’s despite not playing a top 10 offense (total YPG and YPP) in any of those games. Houston is the only top 10 offense they have faced and that was one of their terrible weather games. Tennessee ranks in the top 10 in total offense, YPP, and scoring. The Tennessee offense is rolling right now as well scoring 75 points over the 2 weeks against 2 of the best defenses in the NFL (Baltimore & Indy). The Titans will put up big numbers here. Cleveland will have to keep up and we think they will. Their offensive stats are also off due to the 3 bad weather games. Minus those games, this Cleveland offense has been held under 30 points just twice this season vs 2 of the best defenses in the NFL (Pittsburgh & Baltimore). QB Baker Mayfield has had his ups & downs, but when facing a defense that is poor at pressuring the QB, he has been very good. Tennessee ranks 29th in sacks per game and 30th in sack percentage and they are now without DE Clowney who is their best pass rusher. In the 3 games Cleveland faced a bottom 10 team in sack percentage, Mayfield has completed over 71% of his passes with 9 TD’s and 2 interceptions. Mix in one of the top running games in the NFL and Cleveland will have a big day on offense. This should be a back and forth, high scoring game and we like the OVER.
