#853/854 ASA FREE PLAY ON Over 151 Points – North Carolina vs Florida State, Friday at 8:30 PM ET - These 2 met twice this season and scored 157 & 148 points. Their most recent game was 2 weeks ago in Chapel Hill with UNC winning 78-70. That game nearly reached 150 points despite a terrible offensive performance by both sides. UNC shot 38% from the field and 22% from beyond the arc in that game. FSU wasn’t much better making 39% overall and 29% from 3 point land. Both are very fast paced teams (1st & 3rd in the ACC in tempo) so their were a lot of possessions in the first 2 meetings and we anticipate the same here. One thing they did do in both meetings is get to the FT frequently. In the first game there were 41 FT attempts and in the most recent meeting these teams got to the line 50 times. If that continues, which we think it will, and they shoot even an OK percentage this one should go OVER. FSU is the #1 team in the ACC in offensive efficiency and #1 in hitting over 40% of their 3’s. Defending the 3 is not one of the Heels strong points defensively (211th nationally). UNC dominated the boards in both meetings gathering nearly 40% of their misses in game 1 and over 50% in game 2 leading to a number of 2nd chance points and points in the paint. While FSU’s seasonal offensive stats are at the top of the ACC, the Heels have been rolling offensively over their last 3 games scoring 91, 101, and 81 points. They put up 1.14 PPP last night vs Va Tech who is #1 in the ACC in defensive efficiency. This one should be a shoot out and OVER is our selection.
