ASA free play on OVER 223 Memphis Grizzlies @ Golden State Warriors, 10PM ET Game 4 - The big news here is the injury status of Ja Morant for the Grizzlies. He’s obviously a huge part of this roster and one of the most exciting players in the NBA. Morant has scored 115 total points in this series but the Grizzlies will find ways to score by other means. Memphis was 20-5 SU this year when Morant didn’t play so they are more than capable of putting up points here. What we like here is the pace of play numbers for both teams. In the three games of this series these two teams have attempted an average of 183 field goals per game which is significantly higher than the league average of 176 FGA per game. Golden State is averaging a shot attempt every 13.6 seconds in this series, Memphis is getting a FG attempt up every 14.3 seconds which are both faster than league average. The Warriors are scoring 1.17-points per possession against Memphis, the Grizzlies are averaging 1.08PPP against the Warriors. In Game 1 of this series these two teams combined for 233 total points. In Game 2 they produced just 207 total points, but the Warriors had a horrendous shooting night by going 7 of 38 from deep or 18%. Granted, in Game 3 the Warriors shot remarkably well from beyond the Arc at 53% which contributed to 142 points. We don’t expect the Warriors to shoot as well in Game 4, but they won’t shoot as poorly as they did in Game 2 either. Expect them to trend back to their season average of 36.4% which was the 8th best average in the NBA. Even without Morant the Grizzlies aren’t going to change their offensive philosophy which led them to the 2nd highest scoring average in the NBA this season at 115.6PPG. The value in the drop of the number from 227 to where it currently sits has us on the OVER!
