#185 ASA FREE PLAY ON Michigan -10.5 over Iowa, Saturday at 12 PM ET - We were on Michigan last week and despite their 7 YPP to 5.4 YPP advantage vs Maryland we did not get a cover with the Wolverines winning by a TD. The Wolverines led by 15 points under 4:00 remaining in the game and the Terp offense has the ability to rally and it least make it respectable. That won’t happen this week with this terrible Iowa offense. We just don’t see this Hawkeye team doing enough on offense to make this a single digit margin. Iowa ranks 107th in offensive efficiency (YPP offense), 119th in passing offense, and 98th in rushing offense. Last week it looks like they may have improved a bit offensively scoring 27 points, however 2 of those were defensive TD’s so the offense only put up 13 points vs Rutgers. If we subtract their defensive scores, this Iowa team has scored a grand total of 5 TD’s in 4 games this season. Now facing a Michigan defense that is the best stop unit they’ve faced this season, we just don’t see the Iowa offense doing anything in this contest. The Wolverine offense is averaging 50 PPG this season and while we understand they haven’t faced a gauntlet of top notch defense, they aren’t going to have to put much on the board to get this cover. 24 points (or maybe less) probably gets it done for the Wolverines who have not scored less than 34 points in any game this season. Former OSU head coach Urban Meyer stated while watching Michigan host Maryland, that this is the most athletic team across the board the Wolverines have had since he took over at OSU back in 2012. We agree. This is going to be a tough task for the Iowa offense to keep up in this game. These 2 met in the Big 10 Championship game last year and Michigan rolled 42-3. While we don’t expect it to be quite that easy this going around, we’re only laying 10.5 or 11 with Michigan here. Lay it and the Wolverines cover.
