#866 ASA FREE PLAY ON Louisiana Money Line -120 over South Alabama, Monday at 7 PM ET - Louisiana took both meetings this year winning by 3 & 10 points and we feel they are in prime position to take another tonight. We really like this South Alabama team and used them in the Sun Belt opener on Thursday as they topped App State. However, this is not a great match up and a bad situational spot for the Jaguars. This will be their 4 game in 5 days and they are not a deep team to say the least. South Alabama ranks 339th nationally this season in bench minutes and in their first 3 games in this tourney their starters have logged 516 of the 600 minutes (86%). Meanwhile, Louisiana is the deeper team and they’ve played only 2 games thus far in this tourney as they were the #2 seed in this tournament. The Rajin Cajuns have played their starters just 64% of the time in their first 2 games so they should be the much fresher team. We’re also getting some line value based on the first two meetings which has Louisiana favored by 2.5 on the road and 4.5 at home telling us this line should be around 3.5. In those 2 meetings the Cajuns absolutely dominated the boards (+22 in the 2 games combined) and we expect more of the same as USA is a bad rebounding team (last in the Sun Belt in offensive rebounding) along with the probable fatigue factor for the Jags on top of that. ULL also had a big advantage at the FT line (+13 made FT’s in the 2 games combined) and we do not see that changing. S Bama gets to the line as infrequently as almost any team in the nation with just 12% of their points coming from the stripe (361st nationally out of 363 teams). The Cajuns have the #1 team in the Sun Belt in terms of offensive efficiency and their big man Jordan Brown couldn’t be stopped in the first 2 meetings racking up 51 points on 81% shooting from the field (22 of 27) while also grabbing 19 rebounds. We’ll lay this short number as Louisiana wins the Sun Belt tonight.
