#369 ASA PLAY ON Sam Houston State -18.5 over Kennesaw, Saturday at 3 PM ET - KSU is one of the worst teams in the country with a 1-8 record losing by an average of 15 PPG. They are the only team in the nation that has been outgained in every game this season. They also have some serious distractions going on as the KSU AD fired head coach Bohanon after last weekend’s loss @ UTEP. This was not expected as he was very well respected in the locker room. He’s the only coach they’ve had in their history (program started in 2013) and had very good success at the FCS level (71-30 record from 2015 thru last season) before moving up to the FBS this season. WE’re hearing the players are not happy about this and they’ve already had their top DL enter the transfer portal this week. The interim coach is 28 year old Chandler Burks who has very little experience as you might expect at that age. The KSU offense ranks dead last in the nation averaging YPP (4.0) and 2nd to last in total offense (250 YPG). They face a very good Sam Houston State defense that ranks in the top 30 nationally so we do not expect much out of the Kennesaw offense. SHSU’s offense has had some poor showings as of late but their starting QB Watson has been in and out of the line up the last 3 games due to injury. They are coming off a bye and he has been practicing and looks healthy. When he was full go prior to the injury, the Bearkats had scored at least 31 points in 5 of their first 6 games. We look for them to get back on track here vs a KSU defense that ranks outside the top 100 in YPG, YPP, and PPG allowed. SHSU is 7-2 on the season and over half their wins (4) have come by at least 18 points. They are rested and motivated battling for the CUSA title (they are 1 game out of 1st place). This smells like a blowout.
