#714 ASA FREE PLAY ON Illinois State +1.5 over Bradley, Wednesday at 8 PM ET - Big rivalry game here and we really like the spot for ISU at home. The Redbirds have lost 3 straight, all close losses, and they are eager to get back in the winning column. Prior to losing their last 3, ISU has won 5 of 6 and their only loss during that stretch was a 61-57 setback @ Bradley. The Redbirds shot just 31% in that game (42% for Bradley) and made 4 fewer FT’s but still had a great shot at the road upset. In this one they catch the Braves in a rough spot. It’s their 3rd road game in the last 4 and Bradley is coming off a huge upset on Sunday winning @ Drake (best team in the MVC) by 2 points. The Braves shot 53% in that one, including 41% from beyond the arc, and still were only able to win by a bucket with 10 seconds remaining in the game. Now a short turnaround, on the road again, vs Illinois St who has an extra day off after playing on Saturday. Illinois State is one of the best shooting teams in the nation ranking 20th in FG% and 10th in 3 point FG% and those overall numbers go up at home where they hit almost 51% of their shots. In their most recent home game vs Drake, the best team in the conference, ISU lost by 7 but the Bulldogs shot a ridiculous 60% from the field and 50% from deep. We expect the Birds to shoot much better at home in this rematch vs Bradley and if they can limit the Braves from going crazy from beyond the arc (they rely heavily on the 3 point shot) we think they win at home.
