10* EAST-CONF TOTAL OF WEEK (UNLOAD w/ CONFIDENCE!)
(NHL) Maple Leafs (TOR) vs. Canadiens (MTL),
Total: 6.50 | 100.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* EAST-CONF TOW on the UNDER Leafs/Canadiens.

These are the two most successful teams in Stanley Cup history, but neither has won the Cup in a long time. Montreal last in 1993 and the Leafs back in 1967.

Toronto is +1,400 to win the Stanley Cup this year, and Montreal is +8,000.

When these teams got together last year for the first time, they actually combined for ten goals and the Leafs won in a shootout. But the other two wins for Toronto in this building last year were five goal and six goal games.

The Leafs had no problems scoring goals last season, it was defense that was the issue. But the signing of bruising defenseman Christopher Tanev from the Stars will help a lot along the back end obviously for new head coach Craig Berube.

Montreal struggled on both ends of the ice last year and the consensus early on is that will once again be the case this season.

Montreal did lose off-season acquistion Patrik Laine to knee injury in a 4-2 loss to the Leafs just last weekend in pre-season action so that doesn't bode well for this already suspect Habs offense.

The bottom line here is that only five of the last 17 games involving these two franchises have gone OVER six goals and until Montreal is able to actually prove it can score with any consistency, I think this trend will continue.

So my play is the UNDER 6.5 goals.

Good luck, NP
