Here's a great situational play that we can take advantage of, as I expect these desperate sides to double-down defensively after poor starts to the season.

Edmonton is 1-3, while Nashville is 0-3.

The Oilers O/U is 2-1-1, while the Preds have seen it go 2-1.

Dating to last season the Predators have seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of their last ten off a home loss as a favorite (fell 7-3 to the Kraken at home last time out), and I say this strong trend now carries over here for this team.

It's all hands on deck for Nashville, which will be risking life and limb getting into shooting and passing lanes to avoid the 0-4 hole.

Edmonton finally broke its three-game slide with a 4-3 OT win over Philadelphia. Now hitting the road for the first time this season and with difficult upcoming games at Dallas and vs. Carolina and Pittsburgh, this "on again, off again" offense is going to struggle in my opinion.

The situation, combined with the numbers/trends finally points to these teams playing to a lower-scoring defensive battle.
