After yesterday's humbling 10-4 series-opening loss here to the Giants, I like the Phillies to dig deep and find a way to deliver a victory here on Tuesday.
The Giants are 4-1 in their last five and 12-4 overall, while the Phillies are just 1-4 in their last five and 9-7 overall.
The bottom line here though is that I just don't trust Justin Verlander, who is 0-0 with a 6.92 ERA and 1.69 WHIP for the Giants.
I'm giving a big nod to Jesus Luzardo in this matchup, as the Phillies' ace right now is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.
All things considered, I believe this line could/should in fact be a lot larger.
