This is an 8* BLOWOUT on Western Michigan.

For a number of different reasons, I think Western Michigan will prevail in the Idaho Potato Bowl. Both of these teams enter off stunning turnarounds as they'd post a combined three wins between them in 2013. Air Force finished 9-3, with quality wins over Boise State on Sept. 27th and No. 21 Colorado State in their regular-season finale on November 28th. WMU finished 8-4 after going 1-11 the year previous; after starting by winning just two of their first five, the Broncos would then win six of their final seven and it's that momentum which I think gets carried over here. Despite both team's dominating on the ground, this contest will be decided in the air; the Falcons had the seventh-best ground attack in the FBS with 272.2 YPG, while WMU's Jarvion Franklin ran for 1,525 yards and 24 TD's, tied for third-most in the country and tops among freshmen. Funny enough, each team also is equally adept in stopping the run, Air Force gives up 140.3 rushing yards per game, while Western Michigan gives up 142.7. Air Force QB Pearson averaged fewer than 15 pass attempts per game though, while the Broncos' Zach Terrell was much more effective, he finished with 3,146 yards, 23 TD's to 10 INT's for a 167.0 rating. And that doesn't bode well for Air Force's porous secondary which was second worst in the MWC in giving up an average of 256.0 yards per game. WESTERN MICHIGAN'S balance on offense tips the scales for me.
