I think this is the very definition of "great line value." From a situational/motivational stand point, this is a very strong play in my opinion. The Sharks are coming off a humiliating 7-2 setback at the hands of the Blues on Saturday, San Jose's fourth loss in its last five games. Also note, the Sharks come to town without the services of one of their leading scorers as Joe Thornton was injured in the setback to San Jose and he'll miss at least two games. Winnipeg on the other hand comes in optimistic, it's won ten of its last 17 despite playing without its top four defensemen. Winnipeg also comes in with plenty of momentum after ending a three-game slide at home with a resounding 5-1 destruction of Toronto on Saturday: "It was a big game for us, you never really want to lose three in a row," assessed Jets forward T.J. Galiardi afterwards. "We weren't happy with the way things were going there, but we showed tonight we can bounce right back." Note that San Jose starting goaltender Antti Niemi is a pedestrian 2-2-1 with a 3.13 GAA in five lifetime meetings vs. Winnipeg, while the Jets' Michael Hutchinson has the league's best GAA at 1.81 currently. And finally, take note that this is a revenge game for the home side after Winnipeg fell 3-0 in San Jose back on October 11th. A ton of situational and motivational factors collide with a very reasonable line, in my opinion the JETS are definitely worth the price of admission in this spot.
