This is an 8* WESTERN-CONFERENCE O/U ASSASSIN on the OVER between the Portland Trailblazers and the San Antonio Spurs.
For a number of different reasons I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. The Blazers were ousted from last year's playoffs by the Spurs but have gotten some revenge by taking both games in the series this season. Whenever these two teams get together it's a battle and I'm definitley not expecting anything to change here. Both earlier matchups flew above the posted number including the most recent in which the Blazers would prevail 129-119 in triple-overtime. Surely the Blazers will be highly motivated as well after falling 100-94 to the Clipprs on Wednesday. San Antonio is currently safely in seventh in the West, but its 7-9 record since mid December ranks 12th. However, the Spurs come in with momentum after beating Charlotte 98-93 on Wednesday. From an O/U trend based stand point, this play is about as strong as you could possibly ask for in my opinion as note that the Blazers have seen the total go OVER the number in six of eight as an underdog, while the Spurs have seen the total sail above the posted number in 12 of 19 home games. The situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
