This is an 8* SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION on Southern Miss.

While I won't be so bold as to call for an outright upset here, I do think that Southern Miss will keep this one a lot more competitive than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe. The last time these teams met, the Golden Eagles would prevail 84-62 on January 16th, 2014; in fact, Southern Miss has won the last five in a row. However, take note that the Eagles enter tonight's game with just a 5-11 overall record, including 0-5 in Conference USA play, the Black and Gold will now be looking to snap an overall eight-game losing streak after falling to UAB, 63-56 last time out. Rice is just 5-11 overall and 2-3 in league play, the Owls are primed for a letdown here in my opinion after snapping a three-game losing streak in their 73-68 OT win over Charlotte on Saturday. These teams are pretty evenly matched in my opinion, and from a trend based stand point, this play is about as strong as you could possibly ask for, note that Southern Miss is already 3-2 ATS this year after scoring 60 points or less and 2-1 ATS vs. poor offensive teams which score 64 points or less per contest. And note that Rice is just 1-4 ATS in its last five when playing the role of favorite. A few too many points here, play on SOUTHERN MISS.
