AAA's ONE & ONLY 10* TOTAL OF YEAR (+$53,710 NBA RUN CONT!)
(NBA) Philadelphia vs. Cleveland,
Total: 193.00 | 103.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is a 10* NBA TOTAL OF THE YEAR on the OVER between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

For a number of different reasons I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. I use many different types of approaches and techniques when handicapping a game, one particular angle that I always keep my eyes open for are "lopsided" trends and numbers. While I'll be the first to admit that the "Law of Averages" is flawed in many ways, I have always believed that lopsided numbers and trends have a way of naturally correcting themselves over the short, the mid and the long term and in this case, both teams have played to the UNDER a lot of late, switching the the value to the higher number in my opinion. Note that Cleveland has seen the total go UNDER the number in five straight games, while Philadelphia has seen it dip below the posted number in seven of its last eight overall. Also note that the total has gone UNDER the number in eight of these teams last nine in the series, including the lone contest this season when Philadelphia held on for the 95-92 victory at home on January 5th. This is a lot of UNDER trends colliding and this would be a 10* play for me no matter what, but as this has qualified as my TOTAL OF THE YEAR, I'm of course not strictly basing this play on lopsided trends, I also think it's a very strong situational play: clearly the Cavaliers will be highly motivated to atone for that "brain fart," the team was in a bit of dissaray at the time as LeBron James was injured and wasn't even playing. That's all ancient history now though, the Cavs are healthy and are gunning for their 11th straight victory tonight (also note that star guard Kyrie Irving was also out for that game). Cleveland most recently destroyed Minnesota 106-90 on Saturday. Philadelphia is obviously a work in progress, but it's definitely been more competitive over the last month, most recently coming off a close 91-85 loss to league-leading Atlanta on Saturday. Cleveland has been playing better defensively and the 76ers have struggled all year with offensive consistency, but from a situational stand point, both teams come into this contest highly motivated and I think this determination will translate into production on the court. Neither team has played to many OVERs this year, but in my opinion the conditions are finally right for a higher-scoring shootout.
