AAA's COAST-TO-COAST TOTAL EXPRESS!
(NHL) Los Angeles vs. NY Islanders,
Total: 5.00 | 105.00 Under
Result: Push
This is an 8* COAST-TO-COAST TOTAL EXPRESS on the OVER between the LA Kings and the New York Islanders.

For a number of different situational and strong O/U trend based reasons, I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Both teams are pushing towards the playoffs and tonight's game is going to certainly have a postseason like atmosphere surrounding it, in my opinion the focus and determination that each side plays with tonight is going to translate into production on the ice. The Isles are second in the Metropolitan, nine points ahead of the playoff cut point in the East with eight games to play. LA on the other hand still trails Calgary by one point for third in the Pacific Division and Winnipeg by two for the West's second wild-card spot, but the Kings do enter this contest with plenty of momentum in having gone on a 15-5-2 stretch, most recently beating New Jersey on Monday and the Rangers 4-2 on Tuesday. The visitors also play with the revenge factor after falling 2-1 to the Islanders in a shootout back on November 6th. New York will be hungry today though as well, despite its comfortable playoff position, it's really been struggling of late during a 1-4-1 stretch, the prolific offense has stalled and has found the net just once in each of those defeats after Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Wild. LA could hardly care less about the Isles issues though and will look to once again take advantage of goaltender Jaroslav Halak, who has posted a 3.23 GAA in his last six games vs. the Kings. Note that the LA has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of 13 this year in trying to revenge a home loss vs. an opponent, while New York has seen it sail above the posted number in eight of its last 13 after scoring one goal or less in its previous contest. In my opinion, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the sharp move in this contest.
