AAA's EARLY BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT!
(MLB) Minnesota vs. Chi White Sox,
Money Line: -170.00 Chi White Sox (Home)
Result: Win
This is a 7* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Chicago White Sox.

Some times a favorite is a favorite for a reason and in this case, I absolutely feel that Jeff Samardzija and the hungry White Sox should be larger ones as they both have significant situational and motivational factors working in their favour. Chicago has gotten out to a flat start, Monday's 10-1 loss to the Royals was followed up with a 4-1 setback on Thursday. Manager Robin Ventura though says its much to early to panic: "Everything gets blown out of proportion the first week of the season," Ventura assessed last night. "We've been 2-0 before and that didn't help us too much. The stuff on the field matters, not perceptions. We have a lot to prove. It's one thing to have it on paper, it's another to go out and play that way. We have some guys off to a good start, other guys probably not, but early in the season that changes." However, after a 6-0 loss to the then winless Twins in the opener of this three game set last night, it goes without saying that the 0-4 White Sox are going to be determined this afternoon. Samardzija had a shaky first start for his new team, giving up five runs and six hits with three walks in the blowout loss to Kansas City, but a date at US Cellular Field in front of the home town crowd is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked, as note that the veteran is 2-0 there, throwing 16 scoreless innings while allowing just eight scattered hits. The visitors counter with Mike Pelfrey, who makes his season debut and who has gone just 5-16 with a 5.56 ERA in 35 starts for the Twins over the last two years; note that Pelfrey has had little success against the White Sox, he's 0-3 with a 6.66 ERA in five meetings while with Minnesota. All of the factors are lined up for a big WHITE SOX victory.
