AAA's EARLY MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT!
(MLB) Pittsburgh vs. St. Louis,
Money Line: -141.00 St. Louis (Home)
Result: Win
This is a 6* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the St. Louis Cardinals.

I think this line should be a lot higher considering the clear talent discrepancy on the mound this afternoon. No need to overanalyze this one in my opinion, this one is based solely on the starting pitchers. Michael Wacha is 4-0 with a 2.42 ERA and gave up four runs and six hits over 5 2/3's innings in his team's 11-5 win at home over Philadelphia last week. And that's bad news for Pittsburgh, Wacha has enjoyed plenty of success against the Pirates already in going 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA in three lifetime match-ups. Wacha has been the beneficiary of a ton of support, the Cards have averaged 6.58 runs for him, ranking among the top 20 in the league. St. Louis has also been getting superb bullpen relief, it pitched five scoreless frames in yesterday's 2-1, 11 inning win, trimming its NL-best ERA to 1.41 in the process. The Pirates have lost five straight in this series, as well as 14 of 16 on the road, while scoring just two runs or fewer in nine. The Bucs are just 2 for 18 in this series with runners in scoring position. The visitors counter with Vance Worley who is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA and who receives a paltry 2.63 runs of support per outing. And it's been Worley's play on the road which has been the thorn in his side, he's posted a 1.54 ERA at home compared to an 0-2, 7.30 ERA away from friendly confines, after giving up four runs and nine hits over six innings in his team's 4-0 loss to the Cubs on Monday (also note that Worley has struggled against the Cards throughout his career, no decisions in three starts while posting a pedestrian 4.96 ERA in the process). Play on the CARDINALS.
