This is a 10* TOTAL BLOCKBUSTER on the OVER between the Atlanta Hawks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
As with all of my Over/Under picks at this time of year, I feel this is a great situational play: Cleveland is 2-0 SU/ATS to open the Eastern Conference Finals, while the total is 0-2. With their backs against the wall, I think the visitors get out and push the pace of this one from the outset and a faster paced game = more shots and more shots = more points. And from an O/U trend based stand point, this selection is about as strong as you could possibly ask for as well, as note that the Hawks have seen the total go OVER the number in six of seven this year as a road dog in the 6.5 to 9 points range, while the Cavs have seen the total sail above the posted number in five of six home games this season when the total in the contest was set between 190 and 194.5 points. As a situational handicapper, individual player match-ups do not play a big part in my process and that's definitely the case here, this selection is based on the "situation" and backed by a couple of very strong trends; all signs do indeed finally point to a higher-scoring OVER.
