Result: Loss
This is a 10* ASSASSIN on the New York Yankees.
The Rangers have won four in a row, capped by yesterday's 15-4 beatdown of the Yanks in the Bronx. Suffice it to say, I definitely thinks this sets up as a classic letdown spot for the now fully contented Rangers and definitely expect the sliding home side to come in focused on the task at hand as it looks to salvage the finale on Sunday night national television. The Yanks have dropped nine of ten overall, so what better time and stage to finally get off the schneid than this. The home side sends veteran southpaw Chris Capuano to the mound, he made his season debut in a 6-0 setback at KC last Sunday, but his counterpart has been just as shaky. The Rangers send Yovani Gallardo to the hill, he'd most recently give up four runs off ten hits in his team's 4-3 setback in Boston on Tuesday; note that Gallardo is just 1-5 with a ballooned 4.63 ERA in his last six starts. Capuano hasn't faced the Rangers since 2007, while Gallardo would give up four runs over 5 2/3's inning to the Yanks in a loss the last time he faced them in 2014. Desperation breeds motivation, while success leads to complacency, I think the writing is on the wall and a bounce-back performance is in the cards, play on NEW YORK.
