The visitors trot out veteran Tim Linecum (7-3, 3.31 ERA), who gave up two runs off five hits to beat the Mariners 6-2 on Tuesday; note that the southpaw would strike out three over 5 2/3's innings, but also walk four. Lincecum's record is not entirely indicative of his overall play of late though, he hasn't actually been able to pitch past the sixth inning in each of his last five starts and has not received a "quality" start during that time (also note that Lincecum owns a pedestrian 4.88 road ERA). The home side counters with Brett Anderson (2-4, 3.43 ERA) who gave up two runs off eight hits over eight innings in a 3-2 setback to the Rangers on Tuesday. Anderson has been "good," but not "great" this year, his home record sits at 1-1 with a 3.32 ERA, which goes up slightly to 3.80 in all "night" games. "Consistency" is not the first word that comes to mind with these two pitchers, neither has impressed and in this nationally televised contest, I expect both to get chased early. Consider a second look at the OVER in this one.
