AAA's VERY EARLY SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION (82-48 $10,786 2nd Half MLB!)
(MLB) Chi Cubs vs. Pittsburgh,
Money Line: -166.00 Pittsburgh (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Gerrit Cole comes into this one on top form and so to does the rest of his team, in our professional opinion, this is the very definition of "great line value." This is a big series for both teams, it could potentially decide home field for the NL wild card, but Pittsburgh has even more to play for here as it sits just 2.5 games behind first-place St. Louis in the NL Central after taking two of three from the Cards from Sept. 4-6th. Clearly the home side can ill afford to "look past" the equally as hungry and dangerous Cubs, a team which it will face seven times before the end of the month. Chicago's 7-1 win skein is in the rear-view mirror now after consecutive losses to the lowly Phillies and unfortunately it doesn't get any easier for the Cubs today in having to face Cole (16-8, 2.54 ERA) who comes into this one on nine days' rest after going seven scoreless innings of two hit ball in a 7-1 win over the Cards on September 6th. It's interesting to note that Cole has owned the month of September, going 9-2 with a 2.95 ERA in 13 career outings during the month. Also note that Cole has dominated Chicago throughout his career, winning his first six starts against it behind a very respectable 2.92 ERA. The visitors counter with Jason Hammel (8-6, 3.59 ERA) who has started to slow down after a great first half to the 2015 season, most recently he'd give up three runs over six innings in an eventual 8-5 win over the Cards on September 8th. Hammel has had mixed success against the Pirates, but note that he's struggled mightily in this spot all season for bettors, going just 2-3 with a pedestrian 4.80 ERA in all "day" games thus far. We're giving Cole the big nod on the bump in this matchup and the Pirates the nod both at the plate and in the overall "motivation" department, lay the fair mid-sized price with confidence on PITTSBURGH this afternoon.
