This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant ATS statistics and scheduling factors:
As note that Charlotte is already 5-2 ATS this year against the Northwest division and 2-1 ATS after allowing 115 points or more, while Denver is just 4-5 ATS this year when playing with two days rest and only 3-7 ATS off an upset win as an underdog.
The bottom line: We think this one also sets up great from a "situational" stand point. This is the finale of a tough seven-game road trip for the Hornets, one which has seen them go just 2-4. Clearly they'd love nothing more than to get off the schneid and finish strong. Denver on the other hand looks poised for a letdown, it's a classic spot bet as the team returns to the comforts of home after two big road victories over Chicago and Milwaukee.
