10* *LEAFS/JACKETS* SUPER TOTAL (OFF WINNING 2-1 TUESDAY!)

Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL EXPRESS on the OVER between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.

This particular play is based on a few different factors:

As note that Toronto has seen the total go OVER the number in three of its last four after scoring four goals or more in its previous contest, while Columbus has seen the total go OVER the number in three of its last four following a divisional contest.

The bottom line: Toronto comes in off a 4-2 home win over Boston and it's now won five of its last seven, while Columbus smashed the Devils 4-1 on the road in its latest action and it's now seven of its last eight. Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen has looked brilliant at times this year and pretty pedestrian in others. Note that he's an unremarkable 12-13 with a 2.77 GAA on the road this season and just 2-2 with a ballooned 2.96 GAA lifetime against the Blue Jackets. The Leafs are sixth in the league in scoring at 2.97 GPG, while they're below average defensively in allowing 2.82. Columbus has the advantage in net with Sergei Bobrovsky as he's 8-3 with a 2.01 GAA lifetime against the Leafs. The Blue Jackets are also better on the offensive end in averaging 3.18 GPG. These are two red hot teams and we're expecting a fast-paced, high-scoring shootout, play the OVER.
