This is a 10* TOTAL EXPRESS on the UNDER between the Denver Nuggets and the Indiana Pacers.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based on a few different factors:
As note that Denver has seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of 12 this year off an upset win as an underdog, while Indiana has seen the total go UNDER in 20 of 35 this season in trying to revenge a loss against an opponent and in 21 of 37 against clubs with losing records.
The bottom line: When these teams played on January 12th, Denver smashed the Pacers 140-112. But we're expecting the streaky Nuggets to have a predictable letdown here after besting the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers 126-113 on Wednesday. The Pacers will not only be out to atone for the earlier defeat, but they're also looking to get back into the winners circle after falling 109-100 to Boston on Wednesday. Indiana though is a lot better at home and we're expecting it to throw everything it has in trying to slow down the high-flying Nuggets tonight. All signs point to this one sneaking UNDER this sky-high number once it's all said and done.
