This is a 10* O/U RED DRAGON on the UNDER between the Cincinnati Reds and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Neither of these starters instills too much confidence, but we believe the situation lends itself to a lower-scoring pitchers duel on Wednesday afternoon:
Tim Adleman: He's 4-3 with a 4.22 ERA. Adleman most recently gave up two runs off five hits while striking out four over six innings in an unfortunate loss to the Dodgers on Friday. Over his last five starts spanning 32 innings he's now allowed just eight earned runs. Adleman has looked a lot better of late and we're expecting the hard-throwing right-hander to carry that momentum over here.
Erasmo Ramirez: He's 3-2 with a 5.17 ERA. Ramirez comes in off the worst start of the year, giving up ten runs off nine hits over 4.2 innings in a loss to the Tigers on Friday. Ramirez though has consistently been at his best while at home this year though, going 3-0 with a very respectable 3.29 ERA.
The bottom line: Note that the Reds have seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of 12 interleague games, while the Rays have seen the total go UNDER in four of six in the same position. Play the UNDER.
