Total: 10.50 | -106.00 Over
Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the UNDER between the Seattle Mariners and the Texas Rangers.
Let's face it, both of these starting pitchers have seen better days. That said though, each has been "solid" this year and we think they're going to battle into the latter frames tonight:
Felix Hernandez: He's 5-4 with a 4.08 ERA. Hernandez gave up four runs off four hits over 5.2 innings against the hard-hitting Red Sox on Tuesday. So far "The King" owns a 3-3, 3.89 ERA record in all "night" games this season.
Cole Hamels: He's 5-1 with a 3.97 ERA. Hamels most recently gave up four runs while striking out five in a victory over the Marlins on Tuesday. Hamels' peripherals suggest that rockier times are likely in store for the veteran, but that said, there's no denying that he's been "lights out" in this position all season, going 4-1 with a 3.99 ERA in all night contests and 4-0 with a 2.88 ERA in all home games.
The bottom line: Seattle has seen the total go UNDER the number in 26 of 45 road games already this year, while Texas has seen the total go UNDER the posted number in 25 of 48 home games. This number is a little high, play the UNDER.
