So far Florida has seen the total go 1-1 this year, while Kentucky has seen it go 0-3. Despite each team struggling to put points on the board to this point, we believe that all signs now finally point to more of a "shootout" this weekend.
Florida: The Gaters lost to Michigan (33-17) and then beat Tennessee (26-20). Florida scored the upset over Tennessee last weekend and will look to do it again in Week 4. Feleipe Franks was 18 of 28 for 212 yards, two TD's and an INT. The Gators have to count themselves lucky, as the defense looked poor in conceding 450 yards, including 183 on the ground.
Kentucky: The Wildcats defeated South Carolina 23-13 on the road last week to remain unbeaten. QB Stephen Johnson was just 16 of 25 for 169 yards and an INT. Vor the season he has 570 yards, two TD's and one pick. RB Benjamin Snell has 272 yards total along with three rushing TD's.
The bottom line: Note that Florida has seen the total go OVER the number in six of its last ten games played in the month of September, while Kentucky has seen the total go OVER the number in nine of its last 15 at home. When these teams played against each other last year, they combined for 52 points. All signs point to a similar final combined score here as well, play the OVER.
