This is an 8* SUPER TOTAL on the OVER between Mississippi State and Auburn.
Both teams are 3-1 SU and each has seen the O/U go 1-3. For a number of different reasons though, we're expecting this one to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Mississippi State comes in of a 31-3 road loss to Georgia and will clearly be looking to generate a lot more offense in this one. Auburn comes in off a 51-14 drubbing of Missouri. When these teams met in Mississippi State last year, Auburn posted the 38-14 road victory. While lots has changed for both sides, we're definitely expecting a similar higher-scoring outcome here as well. Bulldogs' QB Nick Fitzgerald has 626 passing yards with a 7:3 TD:INT ratio and has also rushed for 287 yards and five TD's. Mississippi State's defense looked poor in giving up 404 yards, including 203 on the ground last week. The Tigers focus on the run, but QB Jarrett Stidham still has 846 passing yards and a 3:2 TD:INT. The ground game posted 238 yards last week. The Auburn defense was exceptional last Saturday, but we think it's going to get tested by this dangerous offense, which will be playing with a chip on its shoulder. Note that Mississippi State has seen the total go OVER the number in seven of its last eight off a loss against a conference rival, while Auburn has seen the total go OVER in five of its last eight after two or more consecutive SU victories. All signs point to some points finally being put on the board, play the OVER.
