Total: 9.00 | -115.00 Over
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER between the LA Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Arizona is in a 2-0 hole in this NLDS, losing Game 1 by a score of 9-5 and then Game 2 by a score of 8-5. These teams do feature a couple of the hardest-hitting line-ups in the league, but they also showcase some of the best pitching talent on the planet. So far it's been the big bats which have defined this series early, but I think that's going to change with the shift in venue. The visitors hand the ball to Yu Darvish (10-12, 3.86 ERA) who posted a 3.44 ERA and 61:13 K:W spanning nine starts for the Dodgers since coming over from Texas. Note that Darvish was particularly effective on the road this year by going 6-4 with a 2.44 ERA. The home side counters with ace Zack Greinke (17-7, 3.20), who struggled in the Wild Card Game against the Rockies, giving up four runs over 3.2 innings. Greinke had an early 6-0 lead, but came apart in the fourth. Greinke has looked a bit shaky of late, but clearly the veteran has the experience, pedigree and track record to make an immediate return to form. And note that Greinke has to be feeling very confident in this position as he's 13-1 with a 2.87 ERA in front of the home town crowd this season. With these two capable starters going head-to-head in this pivotal game, all signs point to runs being at a premium tonight, play the UNDER.
