(NBA) Denver vs. Charlotte,
Total: 210.50 | -107.00 Under
Result: Loss
Total: 210.50 | -107.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is a 10* NON-CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the OVER between the Denver Nuggets and the Charlotte Hornets.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics:
As note that Denver has seen the total go OVER the number in six of its last nine after three or more consecutive UNDERS and in 14 of its last 23 off an upset loss as a favorite (lost 109-104 at home to Washington as 5-point favorite.), while Charlotte has seen the total go OVER the number in 15 of its last 25 against good defensive teams which allow 98 points or less per contest and in 45 of its last 73 against clubs with losing records.
The bottom line: All three of the Nuggets games this year have fallen UNDER the number. All three of the Hornets contests this season have also fallen UNDER the number. These are two teams desperate to break out of their "offensive funks" and with each pushing the pace from start to finish, we do indeed expect this total to fly OVER the number once it's all said and done.
