Total: 209.50 | -110.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is 10* TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the OVER between the Detroit Pistons and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics and common sense:
As note that Detroit has seen the total go OVER the number in four of six non-conference games already this year and in two of three instances following a divisional contest, while Minnesota has seen the total go OVER the number in four of seven this season in trying ot revenge a loss against an oponent and in three of four non-conference games.
The bottom line: Minnesota is rolling, as it comes in having won seven of its last ten, including three straight. With a game tomorrow night at Charlotte though, Minnesota will be looking to take advantage of home floor and push the pace of this one from start to finish. The Pistons' five game win streak is now in the rear-view mirror after back-to-back losses and with a game at home tomorrow night against the Cavs, the Pistons will need to match pace with the home side. All signs point to a wide-open, high-scoring shootout. Play the OVER.
