Total: 194.50 | -105.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* O/U WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics and common sense:
As note that Dallas has seen the total go OVER the number in both games that it's played this year after a win by ten points or more (just hammered the Thunder 97-81) and in three of five this season when trying ot revenge a home loss against an opponent (lost to the Spurs 97-91 at home on November 14th), while San Antonio has seen the total go OVER the number in two of its last three after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERS.
The bottom line: With a tough home and home set with the defensive minded Grizzlies up next, we're expecting Spurs' coach Greg Popovich to push the pace tonight. Dallas is out for revenge and is looking to build off its latest impressive performance. This number is just a little low, play the OVER.
