Marquette was one of the best teams in the country. The Eagles are one of only a small handful of teams ranked inside KenPom's top-20 for BOTH offensive and defensive efficiency.
Their HC Shaka Smart has had all week to prepare his team and this team lost to Purdue by just 3 points, they are very good, Shaka Smart has not gotten this far in a long time, he knows he has a great team, this team beat Texas by 21, and for as good as NC State is, they are outside the top 150 in effective field goal percentage.
NC State was a bad basketball team for most of the season and I think Marq will get them here tonight!
Marquette has the best point guard in the country in Tyler Kolek.
I don't see a scenario where NC State wins this game and once Marquette gets ahead here I expect the Golden Eagles to pull away.
