Our selection is on the Detroit Tigers to defeat the Cleveland Guardians on Friday at 7:10pm ET for a number of reasons. Here are some of the more important ones:

Detroit will start Reese Olson -- has been hurt for a while but has some of the best statistics in the game when he's been pitching.

The Tigers are 54-34 this season even though they just lost the series against the Nationals.

Off back-to-back losses, we think that the Tigers will be able to bounce back.

Cleveland will start Slade Cecconi -- allowed three runs in 4.2 innings in his last start. Not his finest work.

The Guardians have lost seven games in a row. This isn't the game to bounce out of it.
