This is a 6* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the LA Dodgers.
The Dodgers stumbled last night, an 8-2 loss which snapped a seven-game win skein; suffice it to say, "sometimes a favorite is a favorite for a reason", for a number of different reasons, I definitely feel that Hyun-jin Ryu and the home side should be much bigger ones in this matchup. Ryu (12-5, 3.44 ERA) has won three straight, posting a very respectable 2.37 ERA, 22 K's and two walks in 19 innings of work, limiting his opposition to a meager .186 batting average. Most recently the southpaw struck out seven and gave up three runs over six innings in a 4-3 win at San Francisco on Sunday. Chicago has played better of late in winning four of its last five games, but I'm expecting an immediate return down the proverbial crapper tonight. The visitors counter with Tsuyoshi Wada (1-1, 3.38 ERA) who is coming off his first major league victory, giving up one run over seven innings in a 4-1 win over Colorado on Monday. Wada I think is going to be in for a surprise today though, Dodgers' batters have feasted on Cubs pitching, one player to keep your eyes on is Yasiel Puig who is 13 for 29 with three doubles, four triples, one home run and nine runs over his last six games; note that Puig has owned the Cubs throughout his career, going 12 for 24 with six runs in seven meetings. I like Ryu in this matchup and definitely give the nod to the Dodgers in the "motiavtion" department after getting spanked yesterday; lay the price.
