(MLB) Toronto vs. Tampa Bay,
Total: 7.50 | -105.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL ASSASSIN on the OVER between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays.

These teams have been playing to some lower-scoring pitchers duels of late, but with a couple of inconsistent hurlers facing off in the opener of this three-game set, I look for the total to eclipse the number in the latter frames. Toronto isn't out of the playoff picture yet, but it's definitely fading fast after going just 9-17 in August, dropping it 10 games back of Baltimore. The Jays power-stroke has abandoned them of late, but a new month brings new optimism in my opinion, and Toronto comes in with momentum here after beating the Yankess 4-3 on Sunday. In fact, the Jays would finish August by winning three of four. The vistors send veteran RA Dickey (10-12, 4.00 ERA) to the hill, who gave up three runs in his team's eventual 11-7, 11-innings loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday. Dickey has been hit or miss all year, he's been very average of late, going just 3-3 with a pedestrian 4.44 ERA over his last eight outings (and note that he's allowed at least four runs in half of those starts). Unfortunately for Dickey, a date at Tropicana is not what the doctor ordered to get untracked, he's just 1-3 with a poor 5.17 ERA in his last five starts vs. the Rays. The home side counters with Jeremy Hellickson (1-2, 2.98 ERA), who looked decent after returning from the DL in early July, but who has since fallen off, he's gone 0-1 with a 4.60 ERA over his last three starts, most recently he was shelled for four runs over just 4 1/3's innings in his team's 5-4 setback to Baltimore on Thursday. I think both lineups are in line for some big time production in this one, all signs point to the OVER as the sharp wager in this contest.
