AAA's VERY EARLY TOTAL "ART OF THE GAME!"
(NCAAF) Missouri vs. Toledo,
Total: 61.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is an 8* TOTAL ART OF THE GAME on the UNDER between Missouri and Toledo.

No. 24 Missouri (1-0) gets set to play Toledo (1-0) early on Saturday and when the smoke clears at the end of this one, I expect this total to sneak below the posted number. Gary Pinkel is certainly familiar with both schools as he is the career wins leader at each (73 at Toledo from 1991-2000 & 103 at Missouri, 2001-present). Missouri will look to make it two in a row after handling South Dakota State 38-18 last week and will need to be wary not to come in complacent vs. this dangerous MAC team. Toledo would start slowly out of the gates in allowing New Hampshire a 14-3 lead last Saturday, but would then turn on the after-burners to secure the 54-20 victory. While QB Phillip Ely and the Rockets would amass an impressive 666 total yards in their opener, including 314 on the ground, there's no question that it's going to be a lot tougher to duplicate that performance vs. the SEC team and DE Markus Golden, who had 10 tackles (three for a loss) and 1.5 sacks last week. Missouri QB Maty Mauk had 178 yards and three TD's last week, but this will also be a big step up in defensive competition for the visitors and there's no question that Toledo will be jacked to avenge last year's 38-25 setback to the Tigers. It's interesting to note that Missouri has seen the total go UNDER the number in 3 of four over the last two years as a favorite in the 3.5 to 10 points range, while Toledo has seen it dip below the posted number in a whopping 10 of its last 11 over the last two years as an underdog and in both games that it's played vs. SEC opponents in the same time frame. While each offense had a cake-walk last week, I think they'll both have a much harder time moving the ball as effeciently today, all signs point to the UNDER as the sharp wager in this contest.
