AAA's NATIONAL LEAGUE MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT!
(MLB) NY Mets vs. Washington,
Money Line: -154.00 Washington (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Washington Nationals.

With just a hand full of games left to go, the Nationals still have a lot to play for, when the smoke clears at the end of this one, I expect the home side to find a way to get the job done. Washington returns to the Nation's capital after a 9-2 road trip which included taking three of four from the Metropolitans. The Nationals are trying to hold off the Cardinals and Dodgers for the league's best overall record. A date vs. the Mets is just what the doctor ordered to keep the drive alive as the Nats have taken 18 of 21 from them, including 13 of 16 this year. The home side turns to Tanner Roark (14-10, 2.85 ERA) who is looking to win a third straight and who has recorded a quality start in five of his last six trips to the bump; most recently Roark went seven scoreless frames in a 3-0 win at Atlanta on Tuesday. And while past success doesn't guarantee anything in the future, Roark will be throwing with the added confidence today in knowing that he's dominated the Mets throughout his career, he's won all four starts while posting a very respectable 3.09 ERA in the procees, most recently allowing two runs over 6 1/3's innings in a 6-2 road win on September 11th. New York comes in complacent I think, it's coming off a three-game sweep in Atlanta over the weekend, making this a natural letdown spot. The visitors send veteran Bartolo Colon (14-12, 4.02 ERA) to the hill; Colon of course has been hit or miss all year, he's coming off a good outing in which he gave up a single run (off 12 hits though), over 7 2/3's innings in his team's 9-1 win over the Fish on Tuesday. Note that Colon owns an unremarkable 4.35 road ERA this year. I like the home side to come in focused here and look for Roark to outduel his counterpart; play on WASHINGTON.
