(NHL) Chicago vs. St. Louis,
Total: 5.00 | 115.00 Under
Result: Push
This is a 10* O/U WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues.

For a number of different reasons, I believe this total will eclipse the number by at least the mid-way point of the third period. The Blues are coming off a couple of horrible performances, a 3-0 loss at Anaheim on Sunday and then a listless 4-1 setback to Vancovuer on Thursday. "We're not playing the right way," Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said last night. "We've made a heck of a run here playing the right way; no odd-man rushes, no forced offense, don't give the puck away and make hope-for plays offensively. (But) we want to play a different game right now, so until we buy into that, we're going to have some rough water we're going to have to go through, and that's what we're in right now. We're in rough water." Here is the perfect opponent to get motivated against, Chicago sent the Blues packing in the first round of the playoffs last April, St. Louis took the first two games before then losing the next four. The Hawks are also coming off a series of low-scoring affairs, including Thursday's 3-2 loss at Nashville, Chicago's first setback this year in regulation. Note that Chicago has in fact seen the total go OVER the number in 13 of its last 21 road games when the number is set at 5, while St. Louis has seen it sail above the number in nine of its last 15 after scoring 1 goal or less in its previous contest. The situation, the numbers and the trends all point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
