This is a 10* O/U WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks.

Both of these teams have played. Both come into this contest at 0-1. Both of their games fell below the posted number. Suffice it to say, with their respective openers out of the way, I look for these two teams to push the pace of today's contest from the outset and expect this total to eclispse the number as the game comes down the stretch. Monta Ellis had 26 points and Dirk Nowitzki scored 18 but the Mavs would fall 101-100 to San Antonio on Tuesday. Note that Devin Harris added 17 points of the bench, but Chandler Parsons was just 2 of 10 shooting in his debut. Suffice it to say, I don't expect the sharp shooter to struggle again today. Defensively though the Mavs were atrocious in allowing the Spurs to shoot 52.9 percent from the floor including 14 of 28 from behind the arc. A date vs. the Jazz is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked, Dallas has taken 12 of the last 15 in the series, including five in a row while shooting 52.0 percent. Utah won't be rolling over today though, it'll be hungry for an upset here after fighting hard in last night's 104-93 setback to Houston. The Jazz actually held a 62-44 edge in the paint, but also suffered defensively, allowing the Rockets to shoot just under 52 percent for the game: "We didn't play our best basketball," big man Gordon Hayward assessed afterwards. "Hopefully we can pick it up. The good news is we play (Thursday) so we have a quick turnaround." Alec Burks would lead the way with 18 points, Derrick Favors contributed 16. A faster paced game = more shots and more shots = more points. In my opinion all signs point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
