This is an 8* ATS SUPER-BLOWOUT on Northern Illinois.
The NIU Huskies and Ball State Cardinals get ready to battle at Scheumann Stadium on Wednesday night, when the smoke clears at the end of this one, I look for the visitors to pull away down the stretch for the comfortable ATS cover. The Huskies have won three of their last four games and bring one of the best rushing offenses in the country to the table today; note that NIU is averaging 5.3 YPC, the combination of Cameron Stingily and Drew Hare have totaled 1,000 rushing yards and 10 TD's. QB Hare is completing 60.8 percent for 11 TD's to just one INT. Hare definitely benefits from his commanding running game taking so much attention from opposing defenses. The Huskies are in the middle of the pack defensively, they allow 26.3 points and 402.6 YPG, they've forced seven turnovers and have collected 17 sacks. Ball State has won back to back games, but I think runs into trouble today; QB Jack Milas has competed only 56 percent of his passes for five TD's and zero INT's over his last three games. The Huskies secondary catches a break this week, Ball State has produced just 12 passing plays of 25 or more yards and is averaging less than 11 YPC. The Cardinals are also pretty mediocre defensively, 26.6 points per game allowed on 404.4 yards, 17 turnovers and seven sacks. Note, Northern Illinois is 7-2 ATS in its last nine road games, while Ball State is just 1-4 ATS in its last five in front of the home town crowd. I think the Huskies dominant run game will prove to be the difference in the end, all signs point to NORTHERN ILLINOIS as the sharp move in this one.
